A new beginning

Where have I been since January? Honestly, I'm not sure I even know.

The end of A-Levels, an insane summer of travelling, and the start of uni later I'm back with a quick charcoal and pen sketch. Hopefully soon, once I've sorted my life out a bit, I can get back into posting more often.

Overwritten

Happy New Year - Hope you all have an amazing year ahead full of happiness, health and success!

Here is the first piece of 2017; one of great sentimental value that I have been working on over the past couple of days. Not many people, if anyone, knows the full meaning behind this, so interpret the title as you will. Possibly my favourite piece thus far.

This is a mixed media piece done on a self primed canvas panel  using mediums from charcoal to ink and paints to a letter.

Alone in the Crowd

This took WAY longer than anticipated drawing all those faces. This conceptual piece is meant to represent the idea of being 'alone in the crowd.' I got inspiration from a the quote 'The worst time to feel alone is when you're in a crowd' - Anthony Horowitz, that I read on a poster.

Also, all the kind words i've received are greatly appreciated and the messages about different interpretations of the artwork are extremely interesting to read so keep them coming :D

Indestructible

2 posts in 2 days! Guess this is what being ill results in.

Here's a quick sketch using Charcoal, a Biro pen and water. The inspiration behind this is from an article I read today from a friends blog which was scarily relatable. I am sure you'll know if it's yours and if it is, it was a touching well-written read.

I promise I'm not always this dark and pessimistic :)

A picture is worth 1000 words

It has been a long time since I last sat down with a paintbrush or pencil and some paper and created whatever I felt like creating, and an even longer time since I last posted on here. But now as it's the start of the Christmas holidays i thought it would be a good time to post again.

Here is a picture of something I did earlier today using charcoal and matches. I won't explain the reason behind this, nor what it means to me, but I will say that the saying 'a picture is worth 1000 words' is definitely true in this case. Take from that what you will.
Hope you all have a lovely Christmas and feel free to comment if you want :D
